Playing around with emotions and watercolours!

Monday 21 September 2009

This is a lion I have been working on in clay. I am going to find out more about clay as it is a lovely medium to work in and you can get such good effects with the finishes.

Went to see the Banksy Exhibition in Bristol University and ended up going on a bit of a Banksy spotting Tour of our own! The monkey painting was amazing! (I still manage to find a tiger to be inspired by everywhere I go!)

A training poster I illustrated for a bank.

Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright...

Watercolour tiger I have been working on.
I have been obsessed with big cats since I was a child and think of the William Blake poem "The Tiger" when I see them...!

Red Setter

This Dog sculpture was created as a commission and I think this is when I realised I could create animals as well as people. I really enjoyed creating him. He inspired me to do a whole lot more!

My Inspiration

One of my favourite animal sculptors is Nick Mackman, I saw her work in a magazine in 2000 and she has always remained a huge inspiration for me. This is because she is creating work which I love as a huge animal lover myself and because I want to create such work myself one day! Here is her website enjoy!

Pet Portraits

An acrylic painting of a Jack Russell Cross Breed called Cari. She's quite a character!

Illustrations...

Some pics I did for a friends Wedding Day...

This one made the newspaper!

These are the finished models they have been sculpted out of plastolene and cast in resin. I then painted them and took them to their new homes!

With model making I begin by working from pictures and real life as much as possible, making my own notes and sketches.

welcome!
